Hello everyone. I want to first say thank you for visiting us!
We look forward to building positive relationships with you and your family to transform you into your child's best special education advocate. As your educational consultant, we work with families to build their IEP knowledge to optimize their special education experience.
I’m Irishia R. Williams, founder of Educational Ties. I am passionate about helping parents who have children that receive special education services through their local schools and districts become their child's best special education advocate. Here at Educational ties it is our mission to help support and create meaningful ties between families and specialized school programs by training parents & building confidence to bridge gaps in their child’s individualized education through IEP training, coaching, and various empowerment solutions.
We are excited about helping our community gain knowledge and confidence!
Having over 20 years of experience as an educator has prepared me for this moment. In the later 14 years of experience is where my expertise as a Certified Education and Program Specialist has been developed, refined and cultivated. This experience involves the teaching and training of preschool through adult learners with varying needs, including, but not limited, to: Autism, Learning disabilities, Other health impairments, Intellectual disabilities, Emotional disturbance just to name a few. Through my special education training, I am also versed in analyzing a variety of educational assessments that assist in the education process.
Navigating the ins and outs of parenthood can be overwhelming. Being a mother of three children I also wear that pretty large motherhood hat! We are currently experiencing the same distance learning protocol as many of you. I have two teenagers who are voluntarily home school students and one involuntary distance learning senior in High school. The training I received as an Education and Program specialist prepared me to be the mother of a son who is on the spectrum of disruptive behavioral disorders. Navigating through various assessments with 5 questionnaires, rating scales, teacher assessments and recommendations followed by reviewing all of the documents during a 2 hour meeting was exhausting! It definitely takes a village of passionate and skilled people to build a great education program for our children. This experience ignited the fire inside to help parents just like myself build the skill and knowledge to become their child's best IEP and special education advocate.
As an educational consultant, myself and my team have the expertise to assess education services, classroom policies, and the effectiveness of these services for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or 504 plans. The assessment of various special education services allows us to report on the effectiveness of these current systems within a students education program. From there, we work with families to develop comprehensive strategies to improve educational quality and equity.
As a parent coach, myself and my team work in partnership with you to train and help you achieve the special education plan and/or program that is right for you and your child. Parent coaching is a relationship we build to support and create meaningful ties that provides parents and other caregivers with hands-on tools to build knowledge, confidence, and action steps to bridge gaps in their child's individualized education.
We look forward to partnering with your family to help solve challenges you are facing with your child’s special education program. You will leave our sessions with so much knowledge and confidence that you will say "what IEP"?
Check out how we help families improve their child's IEP.
